Most edge breaks due to the deckle cutters are caused by three
main reasons:
1) The nozzle choking
2) Debris falling from the deckle cutter itself
3) The jet from the nozzle not cutting the web correctly
Woollard and Henry’s range of deckle cutters will help
resolve these issues by reducing breaks, improving efficiency
and helping toward achieving M.P.S.
NOZZLES CHOKING:
We offer a range of different mesh sizes for filters to suit each
application. This can help avoid the problems sometimes seen when
running filters which are too fine or having to remove filters
because of premature choking. This option of different mesh size
is available with all our filters and can be supplied to suit
your existing deckle cutters.
DEBRIS FALLING FROM THE DECKLE CUTTER:
The air clean deckle cutters have been built with a tangential
air purge system which helps to prevent build up occurring. All
the connections are quick release and have been designed to allow
easy removal from the paper machine.
THE JET NOT CUTTING CORRECTLY:
Our nozzles are supplied in a range of materials from sapphire
to stainless steel, a range of orifice sizes to suit the paper
range being produced and the water jet pressure. The air purge
deckle cutting system can also be provided with dual nozzles to
allow two cutting jets from the one unit.
